You are available for Live Chat when the PrestoExperts icon appears in color in your system tray at the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Also, your listings will display 'Chat' / 'Call' buttons based on your availability.
After a potential client clicks the 'Chat' button on your profile you will receive a pop-up message informing you that they would like to begin a Live Chat session. If your speakers are switched on it will ring for 45 seconds. You can choose whether to 'Accept' or 'Decline' the call. Accepting the call will open the "PrestoExperts Messenger", enabling Live Chat interaction with the client. In case of declining or missing a chat from a client, you will get a penalty, which will change your status to 'offline' for the next two hours.
After a potential client clicks the 'Call' button on your profile you will receive a will receive a phone call. Accepting the call will initiate a call to the client who chose to call you. After the client will answer, you will be connected. In case of declining or missing a call from a client, you will get a penalty, which will change your status to 'Offline' for the next two hours.
To change your availability, click the PrestoExperts icon in your system tray, and select 'Status' from the menu. You can choose from "Available to Chat" or "Available to Chat and Phone", after which the PrestoExperts icon will change from grey to green.
You can also set your Expert Messenger to automatically change your status from 'Available' to 'Not Available' if you are away from your computer for a certain length of time.
To change your availability settings, click on the PrestoExperts icon that is located in your system tray. Click on 'Options' and check the 'Online Status' check box. Enter the number of minutes that you wish to remain 'Available' for Live Chat and Phone while you are away from your computer, then click OK.
